#55 Weekend Witchy Vibes

I hope you’re all having a wonderful weekend! Today’s post has a soft “look of the day” feel, featuring a couple of treats you might just want to add to your collection.

If your style leans towards dark, gothic vibes, Hello Uglies is definitely a place worth exploring. They offer affordable, quality fashion... with options for men too... which makes it even more of a gem. I couldn’t resist having a little wander outside the store as well… not too far (I wasn’t quite sure where the boundaries were!), but what I did see was beautifully designed and absolutely worth a peek.

#54 When It Rains It Pours

During my month of exploring weather in Second Life, this is a bit of a fun twist!  Instead of searching for weather, I can take my own with me everywhere!  Magnetic have made this super fun Rain Cloud that comes in 4 colors that you can wear.  It will rain on you constantly but type in local chat and you get lightning with the sound of thunder rumbling.  Very unique.  I love it!

What I Am Wearing:

#53 Out Of The Rain Cafe

Today, I continued my little journey through Second Life, searching for places where the elements don’t just exist… but truly enhance the experience.

There aren’t many weather-focused spots in the Destination Guide, so tonight I let curiosity lead and searched inworld instead... following wherever the atmosphere might take me. And that’s how I found Out Of The Rain Cafe.  

A perfect haven to unwind, whether you’re with friends or enjoying a quiet moment alone. Pick up a slice of cake and a warm drink at the counter, then wander off to find your own cozy nook. Settle in, listen to the gentle rhythm of the rain outside, and just… be.

#52 April Showers at the Le'eaf Forest Retreat

After a soothing wander through Rainy Alley in my last post, I felt inspired to turn once again to the trusty Destination Guide in search of somewhere new... somewhere where the weather isn’t just a backdrop, but part of the story itself.

This month, I want to focus on bringing you destinations where the elements truly shape the experience, where rain, mist, or stormy skies don’t just set the scene… they become it.

Today I visited the Le'eaf Forest Retreat.  You arrive in a timeless forest, right in the middle of a thunderstorm.  Lightning reflecting in pools of water, revealing a world where Mother Nature has slowly reclaimed the land.

As you follow the path, you come across a railway track leading to the remains of what was once a busy train depot. The high-ceilinged café provides a wonderful space to sit and watch the storm outside. It feels like a place made for quiet moments... somewhere to pause, reflect, and take it all in. Thoughtfully placed quotes throughout the retreat add another layer, gently encouraging you to think more deeply.

If you would like a scenic walk after, pop over the road to The Nature Collective in Bloom!.  There’s a group you can join at the entrance, aimed at connecting people with the wonder and joy of nature in a virtual world. I loved the little secluded spots for when you want time alone, but there are also creative activities like painting to enjoy.  One particularly special feature stood out to me—something I’ve seen in real life, but never in Second Life until now. An old telephone booth where you can write a remembrance for a departed loved one. It’s run by the Wind Phone Collective, offering solace and support in times of grief.  

If you have a bit more time to spare, there’s a horse ride along the main street between the venues that’s definitely worth experiencing.  I headed downhill and came across another lovely cafe and also a camping ground on Linden Way.  Enjoy!

#51 I Find Peace In The Rain

 

Hi Lovelies,

I am someone that holds my heart on my sleeve.  I have a big heart that feels every emotion.  I once had someone in my life a long while ago now would tell me to toughen up and "build a bridge and get over it".  So embarrassed they had to deal with someone who looks on her vulnerability as her biggest strength.  

Today I actually messaged someone that I dread chasing because I dread the awkward responses.  But because their service is free, it seems they felt the need to remind me smugly today of the free service they have offered in SL for years.  Not ONE message has ever not been sent to them without a big thank you, a hug and genuine appreciation for what they do and yet its apparently ok to be passive aggressive towards me in their blunt responses.  I follow their rules to the tee but it is still not enough.   I dread the chasing because I never know what mood I am gonna be met with.  I have been that bothered by the blunt responses I even asked if they had an issue with me.  They claim not but the messages screamed otherwise.  I think they see all this as surface level, but I do not.  It was hurtful.

I decided tonight to blog and try shake off my low mood.  I found a rather lovely little gem, Rainy Alley.  If you want to go somewhere and just feel, this is the spot for you.  A place to take a breath, scream into the rain that you are enough!  Or just pause and enjoy the sound of the storm all around you and the rain soothing your soul.  If you hop down the drain there is a little bar below with a stage.  A beautiful little getaway I can see me visiting again and again.
